JOURNEY TO BACOLOD CITY - PART 1
HELLO! HELLO! HELLO!
I know I was supposed to start writing for this blog a long time ago but I got busy with a lot of things and I could not find time to write sensible things worthy of your time.
Fret no more cos I am back in the game and ready to share some thoughts.
What better way to start this blog by sharing my trip to BACOLOD CITY.
Yes, I have been to the City of Smiles!!!(link goes to a trusted travel blog, no relation whatsoever!)
My journey starts from Sharjah where I booked a cab at around 8:00pm to catch up with my flight by 11:10pm at Dubai Airport. The travel was smoothsailing cos I was heading to the opposite side of traffic. (we all know that at night, it is the Dubai-Sharjah route that is experiencing bottlenecks). Upon alighting from the cab, I paid the cab driver the fare but he said I don't have to pay cos since I am going on vacation and I might not have enough cash so I can just pay him in the future instead. What an act of kindness from a stranger, well maybe because it was Ramadan season. I still insisted that I pay him and good thing he took it. After all, I don't have time to explain stuffs to him since I am running out of time and I gotta board soon.
It might have started so good but things went downhill from here.
I fell in line to check in my baggage and to my surprise -- I exceeded by 8 kls. Yes, I exceeded 8 kls and I thought I had spare allowance left. See, life is just so full of surprises. Hence, just like in movies, I opened my two luggages and rearranged the contents so I can only check in one of the two luggages I brought and I will just carry the smaller one and the backpack and the rest. It was really exhausting cos I was in line for 20 minutes only to be rejected. Now I have to go back to the queue and have to wait another 15 minutes to be accommodated. And yes, it was a success.
I survived that part of the challenge and now heading to the immigration booth and on towards the boarding gate. Of course, we all know that after passing immigration, you have to go through another check of your belongings before you can go to the gates. So I put my stuffs to the scanning machine and myself to the Full Body Scanner. AND...it beeped. Foolish of me to keep my coins in my pocket! UGH! I totally forgot to place it in the bag. I told the security that they are just coins so I went back in and it was now okay. But he chose to frisk me twice and I head to another corner to be frisked again (thus, a total of 3 times). I understand it is for security but I did feel embarrassed. Just for the coins, I felt that I was a security threat. Lol!
This time I am totally exhausted and hungry but I am glad things got sorted. I was able to head to the boarding gate and got my long overdue dinner and I was already waiting for boarding by around 10:30pm.
Stay tuned for Part 2. Coming up next!
